I have seen this shared around social media and I didn’t like the way it was written, so I have rewritten it.

In three short months, everything we worshipped has been taken away. God let us worship these things because He is a God of free choice. But let’s look where this has left us.

We worship athletes, but now the stadiums are shut down. We worship celebrities, but now even they can’t go out so we have nothing to gossip about. We worship money or our job, but now look at the economy. Some of us even worship our churches, but we can’t go there either.

All along we should have been worshipping God, first and foremost, and spending time with our families, because let’s face it… one of the main reasons our young people leave the church is because the adults’ connection to God is rarely seen and they see our examples.

It’s not that God brings on bad things. The fallen one thinks that in doing harm to people, they will question where God is. But the real question to all of is, “where have we been and why has God been absent in our lives.”

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” -2 Chronicles 7:14. Our land is where our feet are planted.
